About Us

I'd like to share a little history. I got my start in wedding photography the old fashioned way. As an apprentice. I worked for an established wedding photography studio based in Kalamazoo, Michigan. As an apprentice I toted bags and loaded film backs. I also watched and learned. I did not start shooting weddings for the studio until two years later, after I had worked with the owner on dozens of weddings. I learned from someone who was already a master at their craft. I was shooting articles for magazines at the same time so what is now called the "photo journalistic" approach came naturally to me.
I started Forever Images in 1997 and bought the studio it is currently housed in two years later. As the business grew my assistant and partner, Sarah, came to work with me. When we expanded into video in 2004 she took over that segment of the business.
Our premise has always been to create an exceptional product at a fair price. We are always adding new options and techniques to keep what we do fresh and innovative. It started with printing enlargements of some of the wedding photographs and having them ready at the reception. A year or two later we began bringing a back drop to the reception so we could offer portraits to the wedding guests. The next year we set up a large digital frame at the reception so that we could display the photographs of the wedding day.
The photograph on the top of this page is from a wedding I photographed in 1983. In those days the bridesmaids dresses you see in the photograph were the height of fashion.
